  • 10+ years process engineering experience in R&D or chemical plant environment
  • Doctorate in Chemical Engineering or comparable 
  • P.E. accreditation strongly preferred
  • Project and design experience with equipment and instrumentation typically found in a chemical plant. 
  • Working knowledge of Project Management Processes. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (ability to speak Mandarin preferred) 
  • Good computer skills with ASPEN Plus, CPFD, MS office, etc. 
The Senior Process Engineer will be an important member of the engineering community at this site and will serve as the resource manager for pilot plant gasification trials, the technical authority for process design of commercial gasification projects, and will provide technical support for business development activities. The position will report to the Process Technology Manager.
  • Active support of all SHE policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support in solving issues in an integrated cross-functional team environment.
  • Analyze process configurations, unit operations, scale-up issues, equipment designs and optimization options.
  • Provide process design guidance and technical input for the following industrial scale unit operations: biomass processing, drying and handling, gasification, gas cleanup and heat transfer.
  • Manage pilot plant gasification resources, including: preparation of proposals for trials to qualify feeds and assess process design and operation improvements; leading the proposal review process; obtaining approvals and scheduling trials; actively monitoring trial implementation; and preparing research reports to document all aspects of completed trials including conclusions and recommendations.
  • Works closely with central engineering and project management teams based in Texas, and operations and technology teams based at the Arkansas site.
  • Supports business development team based in Beijing and Texas.
  • Researches and sources new systems and resources.
  • Analyzes processes, procedures and working practices to identify and implement changes to increase efficiency, productivity and overall profitability of the gasification process.
  • Maintains familiarity with current engineering techniques and developments to sustain and improve technical skills.
  • Ability to innovate in both the technology development and operations areas.
