Scope of Work: 

The EHS Manager serves an integral member of the Plant Management team by providing strategic direction, leading and supporting operations efforts.  This role will identify, eliminate and reduce exposures to create a safe and accident-free work environment. Additionally, the EH&S Manager acts as a change agent to accelerate best practice sharing within the facility by serving as the site primary regulatory agency liaison. Developing a proactive, local EHS strategy that drives the plant to become sustainable, healthy and safe is a key goal of this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop/implement site specific policies and compliance programs. 
  • Increase awareness among team members with regards to safe and compliant work.
  • Assures the plants injury prevention plans are created and executed.
  • Analyze incident data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented.
  • Conduct safety inspections, document findings, and implement corrective action; maintain all site documentation. 
  • Responsible for hazardous waste control and disposal activities
  • Coordinate Environmental Duties to include permitting, auditing, reports and training. 
  • Monitor and support security-related events.
  • Participate and manage local risk/claims management program.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • B.S. Degree in EHS or related field. 
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in EHS management within a manufacturing facility. Food & Beverage experience is a plus but not required. 
  • Demonstrated success; influencing for results, engaging employees in compliance as a foundation for moving the culture of compliance forward
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, hazard communications, accident investigation and safety training methods.
  • Understanding of industry best practice regarding safety and environmental approaches with PSM & RMP safety practices. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
