This role works closely with Engineering, Projects, Production, Contract Maintenance, and outside contractors to perform maintenance repairs and upgrades in assigned area. This individual will manage mechanical maintenance activities and solve both stationary and rotating equipment problems. This is an OSHA VPP site where safety is #1 with a teamwork atmosphere.


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • 5+ Years in a Petrochemical Environment Preferred
  • Working Knowledge of Fixed & Rotating Equipment
  • SAP Plant Maintenance Module
  • Package Generation/Work Scope

Responsibilities for this position include: 

  • Day-to-Day interface with operations, maintenance and reliability teams, and construction personnel to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure safe and reliable operations of two unit areas. 
  • Technical expertise in maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot rotating equipment problems with compressors, pumps, turbines, motors, and gear boxes.
  • Troubleshoot fixed equipment problems including furnaces, boilers, and heat exchangers.
  • Participate in PHA, HAZOP studies, and MOC process documentation.
  • Provides estimates to the budgeting team for small capital projects.
  • Serve as the mechanical lead during turnarounds for assigned unit areas.
  • Drive maintenance cost improvements in conjunction with the management team.
  • Perform unit visits to evaluate SAP notifications and provide planners and schedulers with scope of work, and sequence of events timeframe. 
  • Review and optimize maintenance workflow process on a continual basis.
