The Environmental Manager will be a key player for the plant and manage the daily activities of the environmental staff at the Houston plant. This role will focus on a new initiative to educate plant staff on regulatory requirements and conditions for permits.    

This company is the sole producer of chemical grade diisobutylene in North America and the second largest active merchant producer of high purity isobutylene in North America. Their products are sold to a wide range of performance, specialty and intermediate segments, including synthetic rubber, fuel additives, plastics and surfactants. Put simply, they make the products that go into making the world’s tires, carpets, gasoline additives and many other essential items used in our daily lives. 


  • BS Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related
  • 7+ Years of Chemical Plant or Refinery Experience 
  • 2+ Years of Management
  • Environmental Air Background is Preferred
  • Strong Leadership & Communication Skills 

Responsibilities for this position include: 

  • Provides leadership in the execution of regulatory permitting and compliance activities not limited to Title V, NSR, GHG, EIQ, TRI, and HRVOCs
  • Prepare capital project job packages, submit AFEs, review and submit project timeline and cost estimates
  • Direct environmental compliance and performance functions in accordance with corporate compliance guidelines and applicable environmental requirements
  • Interface with various departments and contractors, agencies, and trade groups to advance the goals and mission of the company and assist all employees in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Serve on the Environmental Best Practice Team and Houston Community Advisory Panel
  • Active participant on plant manager staff meetings and heavily involved in the management of the plant
  • Record, analyzes, and reports key environmental metrics for the plant
  • Serve as liaison for Corporate and Responsible Care audits
  • Plant liaison to corporate EHSS organization
