Qualifications: 
  • B.S. Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Occupational Health and Safety 
  • 3+ years of experience with plant floor EHS management, preferably in a food manufacturing facility
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, hazard communications, accident investigation and safety training methods
  • Knowledgeable of PSM & RMP safety practices.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Development and implement site specific policies and programs to ensure the facility is in compliance with safety and health requirements in accordance with federal/state/local regulatory requirements. 
  • Manage daily activities to ensure interaction with facility management team, team leaders, and facility employees in order to increase awareness and education levels 
  • Assures the plants injury prevention plans are created and executed.
  • Analyze incident data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented.
  • Perform job site analysis to determine employee as well as a property exposure, and institute safe work practices
  • Conduct or direct and coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual safety inspections. 
  • Develop and coordinate all EHS related training. 
  • Maintain all site required documentation related to safety issues and safety programs
  • Responsible for hazardous waste control and disposal activities including training, collection, disposal, and records maintenance and for conservation programs within the organization.
  • Coordinate Environmental Duties including; SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) Permit, Internal/External Environmental Audits, Air Pollution Permit, Air Quality Inspections, Dust Collector Reports, Hazardous Waste, TIER II Report Corporate Environmental Audit and present annual training.
  • Monitor and support security-related events.  Serve as Food Safety, Site Security, Contractor Safety and Business Continuity representative.  
  • Participate and manage local risk/claims management program.
