Our client has a current opening in their Philly area plant. This is a great location to further develop EHS skills in a chemical batch process facility. They have a strong promote from within philosophy and multiple regional and headquarters locations in the area that are available to provide additional support and resources, as well as, potential advancement opportunities. 

  • BS in Chemical Engineering or EHS related degree.
  • Candidates must have at least 3 years of Health and Safety in a production (manufacturing or chemical process) plant. Experience with PSM regulations such as MOCs and PHAs is ideal.
  • Ability to work independently, build rapport with all levels within the plant and maintain EHS compliance performance by engaging all employees in compliance.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective training, excellent written and verbal communications skills and competency writing and implementing procedures is required.
  • Certifications such as ASP or CSP, DOT, RCRA or ISO14001 are a plus.
The EHS Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuous improvement of all EHS programs for this site. The role is approximately 80% focused on health and safety and 20% focused on environmental compliance program support. The EHS Engineer will also:
  • Participate/lead the site safety committee; manage and deliver effective safety training and manage a wide range of Health and Safety, as well as, some Environmental programs
  • Manage portions of the PSM compliance program such as MOCs and PHAs, Emergency Response Plan, Industrial Hygiene, and the fitness/wellness program.
  • Managing DOT, Security, Responsible Care Management System, Ergonomics and IH programs and ISO14001 representation.
